What's Next?

2019 has been an exciting year! I cannot begin to express the overwhelming joy that I am experiencing as I look at how at how WEBC excels in everything they set their hearts on. Ministry is booming, missions is taking off, outreach has taken off, and the church is thriving. Indeed, I am humbled by God’s activity, and thankful to be a part of such a wonderful church family.

In the Bible, we never see the church thrive, or God’s people prosper as a result of their own doing.  Rather, it is because of the blessing of God that the church thrives (Acts 2:46) and I believe that is because of their faithfulness to Him. No doubt we have much to do in 2020, and soon the Vision Team will be casting a 2020 vision to be brought before the church for approval. It will entail many exciting things and it will involve all ministries working together cooperatively toward the mission and vision of the church!

The big question is whether or not we will continue to thrive. This is always the question, and we must answer that scripturally. In short, the answer is that if we are faithful to His Word, then we will thrive because the Lord Jesus always rewards the faithfulness of His people. While we do not know what the future holds, we do know that our Savior does, and as long as He is leading, He will lead us through the storms of life, even if that includes the valleys of death.

We must strive to let Jesus lead in all things, and ultimately that should be our vision. Lord, how can I let you lead? “Abide in Me” (John 15). So, let this year be a year of yielding even more to His Word, to His grace, and find comfort in His power. As believers, we do not have to live powerless… if we do, it is because we choose too.

May the peace of God and riches of His mercy continue to fall upon us in 2020! He is good, all the time!

At the feet of Jesus,
Pastor Jeff
